"Festival of Praise" Classical Guitar, Violin, Oboe, Bassoon

$10.00

I wrote “Festival of Praise” for the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia Romanian Church of God in Chicago, where I’ve been serving in the Music Department since 1990 and as Music Director since 2004.

The piece is written for Classical Guitar, Violin, Oboe, and Bassoon. Composed in a Baroque style, the work features some counterpoint content as well as some responsory sections, with the Guitar, Violin, and Oboe taking leading roles at different times throughout the piece.

I am suggesting a tempo of about 85BPM, but our ensemble usually ends up playing closer to 95-100BPM.

The included mp3 is a straightforward mp3 reduction of the score, written in MuseScore, so the tempo changes are not reflected in the recording. Use the mp3 recordings (score and individual parts) only as a guide.

I am also including our first public performance of this piece, on October 20, 2023, at the first Jubilee Service at the church. It is not a perfect performance, but I feel it might give you a more realistic feel of how the piece should sound.
